New blog, New start

I'm not one for doing massively personal posts but anyone who knows me will know that I haven't been myself since Archer was born.

I dont like to talk about it really. If I'm honest it makes me feel weak and I'm much more of a bottle it all up inside and keep on pushing it down kind of person, always have been. Which I appreciate isn't the healthiest approach to my issues but hey.

Anyway my blogging has been affected massively in the last 7 months. You may have noticed. You probably haven't. But I've noticed and it's been getting to me. I keep trying to pick up my camera and take photos or pick up my laptop and write but it's almost impossible when my own head is so full of white noise at the minute.

I'm getting there though, & I'm determined not to let something I love doing fade away into the background just because of what is hopefully a bad patch.

I actually started my blog in 2012 when I was pregnant. I set it up in my bedroom in my grotty student flat using the simple blogspot template and named it 'Adventures of Lily Mae' not long after finding out I was having a girl. I kept up weekly pregnancy updates and monthly Lily updates on my chunky old ipod up until Lily turned 18 months when I finally bought a laptop and a proper URL and turned it into www.Lilymaeadventures.com. From then on my blog became my own little space where I wrote about my own interests as well as Lily's and my passion for blogging just grew and grew.
And here I am 4 years down the line, 2 children on and I'm essentially starting all over again. Except kind of not because I'll still be keeping all of my old posts that I love (which my clever computer savvy boyfriend somehow managed to do for me.) I feel like recently I have more of a clear vision of what I want from my future and I need to hold on to the things that make me happy, like blogging, because as a good friend reminded me I'm at risk of losing it all if I carry on the way I am. Don't you just love those friends who are good enough friends to be able to tell you when you're being a twat?

So I'm waving bye bye to Lily Mae Adventures and moving forward with LilyPad and Bow. (The name, incase you're wondering, is just an accumulation of my kids nicknames and it took me longer to come up with than I care to admit! Lilypad has been Lily's nickname since day one (How I met your mother anyone?) and Archer means Bowman as well as 'Bo' coincidentally being Lily's nickname for him for seperate reasons.)

So there we have it.

Like a phoenix from the ashes I'm totally rising again.

Lets hope fresh starts aren't over-rated, eh ;)

PS incase of any confusion my social media accounts, bar instagram will all be changing names too. For any enquiries you can contact me on the new email address - Lilypadandbow@gmail.com
